It’s the Republicans Who Are a Danger to Dogs and Cats, Not Haitians

A recent article in the Huffington Post chronicles how Republicans are a greater threat to America’s pets than Haitians, who are not. The sub-headline blares, “Some of them have actually killed dogs!”

The article begins:

After all, who can forget the South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem self-disqualified herself from becoming Trump’s running mate by bragging that she shot a 14-month old puppy. Why? Because it was less than “worthless” as a hunting dog.

And,

Most recently, several former colleagues of Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation and the man behind Project 2025, told The Guardian that Roberts once said he’d killed a neighbor’s dog with a shovel.

Then there’s newly minted Trump Republican, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.:

Thanks to RFK Jr.’s failed independent presidential bid, we’ve learned he’s cut a whale’s head off with a chainsaw, allegedly barbecued and eaten a dog (he maintains it was a goat), and planned to skin and eat a bear cub but got distracted and dumped the carcass in New York City’s Central Park instead.

Former Mississippi GOP Senator bragged about doing all sorts of “indecent” things to animals.

Former South Carolina GOP Leader admitted to killing his mother’s dog because “God told him to.”

Illinois Congressman Mike Bost killed a neighbor’s beagle.

Former racist Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King is a big defender of dog fighting, in which the goal is for one dog to be killed.

Of course, Donald Trump Jr. is infamously known as a blood-loving big game hunter. But he also has a passion for shooting prairie dogs.

There are plenty more GOP’ers who are a danger to pets and animals writ large.

That leaves Mitt Romney to defend himself by declaring, “I didn’t kill my dog,” after being ridiculed for leaving his family dog, Seamus, in a cage on the roof of his car for a 16-hour trip.

He might also want to clear his name by avowing that he didn’t eat Seamus either.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
