91-year-old woman killed after being attacked by her own dogs in Chehalis

The co-owner of the dogs voluntarily agreed to turn the dogs over to be euthanized, officials say.

LEWIS COUNTY, Wash. — An elderly woman died Wednesday after being attacked by her own dogs in Chehalis.

The woman, 91, was attacked by her two German Shepherds, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department said in a release on Friday. She suffered “major trauma” to both of her lower arms, deputies say.

Deputies were sent to the home on River Road in Chehalis around 2:30 p.m. The woman was transported to a nearby high school to be airlifted, but deputies say the woman passed away during the flight to the hospital.

The release says deputies met with the co-owner of the involved dogs on Thursday, and they agreed to turn over the dogs to law enforcement to be euthanized.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at 360-748-9286.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
