Firefighters rescue Fort Myers couple, 5 dogs from fire in Hurricane Helene’s wake

Reports of a possible structure fire led to the rescue of two people and five dogs, fire officials say.

According to the South Trail Fire District, the rescue happened off Coca Sabal Lane, in Fort Myers.

Officials said the smell of electrical burning and smoke in the home led to their response.

With the bottom floor filled with flood water, the fire district said, the homeowners and five dogs were sheltered on their exterior balcony.

Fire crews used a 24-foot extension ladder to assist the two residents and their five dogs. The fire district said crews then escorted the humans and helped carry the dogs to dry ground.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
