Hysterics as dog gives owners silent treatment after vacation without him

A dog’s way of letting his owners know that he is unhappy they went on vacation without him has left viewers online in hysterics.

Snow, a golden retriever, was caught sulking on the couch after his parents returned from their long vacation. The canine had been left with his owner’s mother while she and her husband enjoyed three weeks away, but the couple were stunned to see Snow turning his back on them and ignoring them after they got home. Snow’s owner, Poonam Lea, captured the dog’s comical bad mood and shared it to TikTok under @snow_retriever on September 21. It has since been viewed more than 6,900 times.

“He did not want to see us, he kept sitting with his back to us,” Lea, Snow’s owner, told Newsweek. “We video called him from abroad, he looked at the screen and then sat exactly like this.

Viewers were able to see the canine sitting on the couch, with his back firmly turned away from Lea’s husband. An overlaid text on the video read: “Snow refused to acknowledge us after being left at grandma’s house for three weeks during our holiday.”

The 8-year-old dog’s ability to communicate his discontent with his owners’ temporary absence has amazed viewers online, many of whom have shared their thoughts on Snow’s reaction in the comments section.

“Major huff going on there,” a third viewer shared.

Another added: “Needs lots of cuddles and treats!”

“We got Snow for my husband’s 30th birthday and since he was a pup he has always been very independent and likes his space,” Lea said. “Snow goes to bed, on the top of the stairs, around 9 pm whether we go to bed or not.”

Snow’s owner says that the pet is a creature of habit and would not have taken kindly to his owners, who usually work full-time, taking off for three weeks for a vacation. Still, his amusing reaction to their return has awarded him plenty of love and support online.

“Snow has received a lot of love and attention from his fans on TikTok which we are very grateful for,” his owner said. “I had started putting his videos online just to create memories for ourselves, but since then he has started getting lots of followers.

“I felt I should tell more of his stories as it seems to bring smiles to people watching from around the world.”
