Dog Dad’s Attempt to Get 2 German Shepherds Over a Bridge Is Pure Hilarity

It’s not easy being a dog dad, especially when you realize that even your dog has limits. Brett quickly realized that his two German Shepherds might not be the best at climbing inclines at a really inconvenient time. And seeing the man try and hype his dogs up to make the trek has people cracking up online.

Whoever designed the pier that the trio was standing on clearly didn’t have dogs in mind.

Talk about a design flaw. The pier in the video was so steep that both German Shepherds couldn’t make it up on their first try.

“Hold on, hold on. Don’t panic,” Brett warned one of his dogs as they started to slide backwards. Reader, we’re panicking. That poor little guy was going backwards so fast.

So the dog dad decided to talk them through it. “More speed, more speed. You need more speed,” he told the dogs.

Alas, all his encouragement didn’t help. Again the dogs failed to make it up the pier. At one point it really looked like one of the dogs was considering swimming to shore.

“This took some effort,” the man joked in the caption.

Commenters couldn’t help but laugh. “All I could think of is that meme FATHER HELP,” wrote one person. “She was legit contemplating walking the tight rope to shore!” someone else teased. “‘Don’t panic’ the dog was like ‘DAD HELP ME I’M FALLING,'” added another commenter. “I love how they’re just play fighting at the top of the stairs when they’re almost up, lost the whole plot!” kidded one person.

Why Didn’t the Dad Carry His Dogs?

In a follow up video, the dog dad addressed some of the more judgmental commenters who asked him why he didn’t just carry his two 90 lbs. GSDs in the first place.

“Why didn’t I think of that?” he said in the footage, addressing one commenter who wondered why he didn’t “just carry” the pups. “Why didn’t I just grab two 90 lbs. German Shepherds, throw them over my shoulder, and just Barry Sanders up the 90 degree hill off the water?”

He even joked that because he’s clearly Spider-Man, he could’ve “spun my web straight off the dock,” grabbed his dogs, and “scaled it — no problem.”

Obviously this was not really an option.

“I think that if I could’ve done that, I would’ve done that,” Brett said.

Some people. Life with dogs is never as easy as it looks.
