A cat who behaves more like a dog has melted hearts on the internet.
Chlea, a gray-and-white feline, and her canine companion Chloe, a beagle, have become Instagram sensations (@thebeagleandthebun) for their charming friendship. Their owner recently shared a reel showcasing Chlea’s surprisingly dog-like behavior, and it quickly amassed more than 500,000 likes and 7.4 million views.
“When you are a cat raised by a dog so you only know how to do dog things,” reads the playful text overlaying the reel.

In the video, Chlea joyfully partakes in activities typically associated with dogs. She is seen walking on a leash, sitting obediently for treats and traveling in a car to playdates with canine friends, where she cheekily “whacks” them—showing her feline side. She even wrestles with her sister Chloe, proving that she’s no ordinary cat.
“Our cat Chlea is a dog, and our beagle Chloe is a cat—no one can convince me otherwise,” the owner captioned the clip, cementing their unique bond.
Studies show that many dogs and cats can form strong, peaceful friendships, especially when raised together from a young age.

According to Dogs Trust, while dogs and cats are often thought to be natural enemies, many can live harmoniously when introduced correctly.
The key is ensuring a gradual introduction, allowing them time to adjust to each other’s presence. Over time, cats and dogs can not merely coexist peacefully but also bond, playing together and even seeking each other out for companionship.

Early exposure is particularly important, as it increases the likelihood that the animals will view each other as part of the same social group.
It’s also possible for cats to learn dog-like behaviors, especially when living in close proximity to a canine.

Experts at Cats.com explain that if a cat is raised around dogs, they may imitate certain canine tendencies, such as following their owner, engaging in play similar to dogs, or enjoying activities like going for walks on a leash.
Some classic behaviors associated with dogs are also common in cats, and they can learn tricks with some positive reinforcement.
Instagram users were charmed by the duo’s bond and passed on their own stories.
One user reminisced: “When I was young, I used to watch my cat and dog play together, and my parents had a lot of pictures. My dad would say if you want to see something really cute, get a dog and a cat together. My question to you is, were your beagle and your cat both young when you got them at the same time?”
Chloe’s owner has revealed that she has been with them for 10 years, while Chlea arrived as a kitten three years ago.
“‘Whacking them all’ so cat-like,” one commenter named Melanie joked.
Another, Tiffany, shared: “Aww I wish my cat liked the car. He just meows INCESSANTLY like pls why are we doing this???”
“They are so beautiful, what a joy you have there,” a different viewer added.
