This time around, Givenchy is keeping true to its family values with the expansion of it Voyou family of statement-making handbags.
Presenting a range of three new styles, the trio of additions to the hit handbag line named the P’tit Voyou, a new medium size to the classic Voyou, and a Nano Voyou style bring forth new ways to celebrate your style for the months to come. Introduced through a new global campaign by Parisian photographer Tess Petronio starring Dutch model Julie Hoomans, the Voyou family of styles light up the streets of Paris. “This series embodies a symbol of both fashion and creative expression,” explains Tess Petronio in a statement. “I believe it is important to highlight the strength of women’s personalities and to explore themes of identity. That’s why Julie’s unique persona adds depth to the imagery, showcasing how the bag complements not just an outfit but an attitude of a modern woman. This combination emphasizes how Givenchy’s bag is not only a symbol of luxury, but also a statement piece that resonates personal expression.”
First debuting alongside the house’s Spring/Summer 2023 women’s collection, the bag was soon an instant classic for next-gen stars for its mix of elegance through construction and toughness in detailing for a hint of Parisian Left Bank sophistication for any style “bad boy”, in which the Voyou name of the bag takes its name from in French slang.
Keeping true to its chic nonchalance, the first in the lineup of new styles is the P’tit Voyou. Delivering a feminine new twist to the Voyou bag, a new flap style combines itself with the rock attitude detailing of the bag, done in a cloud-soft, puffy patent calf leather. For a contrast of softness with structure, an adjustable buckled shoulder strap allows the wearer to carry the P’tit Voyou over the shoulder or as a clutch, become a new version of a day-to-night essential—available in seasonal black and vermilion patent leather, as well as flashy silver laminated edition.
Next up is the medium Voyou, which includes all the same features you know and love about the bag, done in a sumptuous vermilion shade with a shiny tumbled leather finish. Embellished with gold and silver hardware at its angles with four multi-buckle straps, the medium Voyou this season also introduces a soft, maxi-croc in black embossed leather and an oxblood red version for a French vintage vibe for those who crave that aesthetic.
Last but certainly not least, it’s the bite-sized version called the Nano Voyou. Carrying the same design details as its sister editions, the Nano Voyou packs a small but mighty punch with its smaller size that allows for hand carry or crossbody ease. With a main compartment that allows for a smartphone, cards, and keys, the Nano also brings forth the signature engraved buckles, with discreet side knots and hot-stamped metallic lettering, done in a tumbled calfskin in vermillion, laminated silver, black satin or dark navy velvet colorways with multiple hardware finishes—making it the perfect gift for a loved one this season.
