Caitlin Clark joins teammate Aliyah Boston as unanimous AP Rookie of the Year

Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever’s star rookie, joined her teammate Aliyah Boston as the only Fever player to win the Associated Press Rookie of the Year award. Associated Press announced today (Sept. 22) that Clark was unanimously named the 2024 Rookie of the Year. Last year, Boston achieved the same feat. The Fever superstar won the award after being named the WNBA Rookie of the Month four times. Clark has also been named to the AP All-WNBA first team.

Clark was also named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month in August. She has broken several records since her debut, the biggest one being the record for most assets in a single season. The Fever rookie dished out 19 assists in her game against the Dallas Wings on July 17. Although the Fever lost the match with a final score of 101-93, Clark set a new record surpassing Courtney Vandersloot, who held the record previously with 18 assists.

Moreover, the Fever rookie is the assists leader on the season, averaging 8.4 assists per game. She is also a great shooter and holds the record for the most points scored by a point guard in a single season in WNBA history.
