Clubhouse clean out day for Sea Dogs
BOSTON COLLEGE WAS THE OVERWHELMING TOP CHOICE, FOLLOWED BY B-U AND IT WAS CLUBHOUSE CLEAN OUT DAY AT HADLOCK TODAY. THE SEA DOGS WERE TOUGH LUCK 2ND PLACE FINISHERS IN THE HUNT FOR THE EASTERN LEAGUE PLAYOFFS. ALTHOUGH THE DOGS HAD THE BEST ‘SEASON LONG’ RECORD IN THE DIVISION, THEY DID NOT WIN EITHER THE FIRST OR SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON, WHICH WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A PLAYOFF BIRTH. PORTLAND ENTERED LAST WEEK WITH A LEAD OVER SOMERSET, BUT THE PATRIOTS WON 5 OF THEIR LAST SIX TO OVERTAKE PORTLAND. é ‘YEAH. YOU DIDN’T KNOW IF WE WERE GOING TO BE IN FIRST PLACE. SECOND PLACE TIED WHAT THAT WAS GOING TO LOOK LIKE. SO IT ADDED A LOT OF EXTRA DRAMA TO THE LAST SIX DAYS. WE GOT TO SEE SOME OF THE TOP PROSPECTS IN ALL OF BASEBALL, NOT JUST THE RED SOX SYSTEM, COME THROUGH. AND WE WERE VERY LUCKY TO SEE THAT AND OBVIOUSLY IT REFLECTED IN OUR RECORD. UNFORTUNATELY, WE JUST DIDN’T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. NOW CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY TO BUILD A NEW CLUBHOUSE ON THE FIRST BASE SIDE OF HADLOCK. SO TH
