Cycle Dogs to return to Ballard as a food cart at Bickersons Brewhouse

The recently shuttered Cycle Dogs restaurant is coming back to life as a food cart in Ballard at Bickersons Brewhouse (1514 Leary Wy NW).

Vegan hot dog restaurant Cycle Dogs closed its doors in January at 5410 17th Ave NW after a couple of years at that location. Before that, the vegan restaurant No Bones Beach Club operated out of that space for four years.

Frank Castro, co-owner and head brewer at Bickersons, tells My Ballard that Cycle Dogs will be on site as their full-time food vendor.

Cycle Dogs announced the news on social media saying they’re open this week from Wednesday to Sunday from 4 p.m. until Bickersons closes for the night. This week they’ll be taking donations as payment.

“Donate whatever you like or nothing at all. This event is about us working out the bugs and getting feedback from you all,” owner Keaton Tucker wrote in his post. He says the menu will be limited this week, but they’ll have their Elote Dog, Seattle Dog, and Chicago Dog—no gluten-free options quite yet.

Keaton says they’ll accept donations via Venmo, CashApp or cash. “The donation is totally optional!” Keaton said. “We’re happy to just give you a hot dog! The donations will help us with the remaining startup costs.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
