Sacramento shelter inundated with 30 dogs from hoarding situation, offers free adoptions

The Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento said it is offering free pet adoptions through Sunday after recently taking in more than 30 dogs who were being hoarded at a home.Thirty-four dogs, all Chihuahuas except for two huskies, were rescued from the property near Lion Gate Way and Goodwin Circle starting on Sept. 2, the city of Sacramento said. A spokesperson told KCRA the dogs were found after their owner died. That influx has overwhelmed the shelter’s capacity. “We were already very full before this happened, with multiple dogs housed in most kennels,” Ryan Hinderman, communications manager at the shelter, said in a statement posted on a city publication. “The shelter has 99 dog kennels, but after the rescue, had nearly double that number of dogs.”The free adoption will also include the animal being fixed, microchipped and vaccinated. Available dogs can be seen on the shelter’s website. The shelter is open from noon to 5 p.m. daily. This comes just after the conclusion of the national annual Clear the Shelters adoption campaign.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app | Subscribe to our morning newsletter

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
