ROCKFORD, Ill. (WREX) — Meyer’s Tails Up Farm hosted their annual Dogs Day Out Sunday, which featured demonstrations, agility courses, and swimming for all of the pets.
The event was started several years ago by the farm as a way to kick off the summer and encourage families to give their dogs a day of fun.
Dogs Day Out was also a fundraiser for the Belvidere Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
Organizers said the event is all about the family coming together and celebrating this time of year.
“Summer is just upon us and there’s nothing more than a dog wants to do something with you so if we can teach you different things that you can get out and do with your dog, we love that, so we have a little bit of a sampling here,” Gwen Meyer, one of the businesses’ owners said.
The event’s activities were also designed to give owners tools and activities to keep their dogs healthy.
