2-year-old Texas girl mauled, killed by dog attack in babysitter’s home, police say

A Texas toddler is dead after being attacked by three dogs at a babysitter’s house. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at a North Houston home at 12:20 p.m. Monday.

Houston police responded to the scene, where a two-year-old girl was mauled by three Rottweilers. Paramedics took the child to Texas Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Witnesses say the toddler was attacked inside the home while in the babysitter’s care.

Dogs that mauled toddler have been euthanized

The owners surrendered the dogs to Houston’s Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC), which reported the dogs were humanely euthanized.

The victim has been identified as Adaya Fisher, according to the medical examiner’s online records. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the child’s cause of death. Records show an autopsy is pending.
