Nonprofit helps with lifesaving gear for working dogs

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – It’s a nonprofit organization that works to provide working dogs with lifesaving gear, medical care, and training at no cost to their handlers. And it’s hosting a fundraiser in Roanoke.

Here @ Home welcomed Gwen Baskcomb and Nate Winstead, along with their working K9s, Doerak and Mavric, to the show, along with Dave Villaflor from Spike’s K9 Fund.

Listen to our conversation about this organization and why it’s so important to help with these costs that help these dogs continue their work in keeping our community safe.

If you would like to help out, you can donate to the organization directly, or attend the Leashes and Lagers fundraiser Sunday, July 28 all day at Big Lick Brewing Company.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
