TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – “It is absolutely horrific to think of the suffering these dogs experienced.” posted the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound on Facebook, regarding four pitbull type dogs who died last week after possibly being poisoned with rodent poisoning.
According to the dog warden, they were called out to Kaylor Road NW, just south of Soehnlen Road NW, around 10 a.m. on Friday, July 19. This between Beach City and Dundee.
The dog warden said they discovered a “horrific” scene of abuse. Three of the dogs were already deceased, but one was “suffering horribly” and was euthanized immediately.
It is believed the dogs were poisoned and dumped on Thursday.
“We know the likelihood of finding who is responsible is slim, but we have to try. Someone needs to be held accountable for this horrible abuse,” posted the dog warden.
The dogs appeared to be littermates, three females and one male, and were most likely under a year old.
“Someone knows who had a litter of white with brown spotted pitbulls with blue eyes (likely around Christmas time) who didn’t sell them all. Someone knows who had four dogs two days ago and doesn’t have them today,” posted the dog warden.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound at (330) 339-2616.
The dog wardens do not have the authority to file charges, but they can forward the information to where it needs to go.
