Ronald Rosario hit a three-run home run in the first inning and the Portland Sea Dogs snapped a four-game losing streak with an 8-2 win over the Akron RubberDucks in an Eastern League game on Friday at Hadlock Field in Portland.
Mickey Romero added a two-run home run in the second inning as Portland jumped out to a 5-1 lead. He added a sacrifice fly in the fourth and an RBI single in the sixth.
James Tibbs III, acquired from the Giants on Sunday in the Rafael Devers trade, had two hits, including a triple. In four games with Portland, Tibbs has five hits and two RBI.
Noah Song pitched three innings in relief, allowing one run on one hit, while stirking out one and walking one to earn the win. Starter Blake Wehunt allowed a run on three hits in three innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Cameron Barstad had an RBI single and Guy Lipscomb homered for Akron.
