TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Summer officially starts this weekend and there are dozens of dogs who are ready to spend the dog days of summer – and every day after that – with you!
Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center designed to get shelter dogs out of their kennels and into the spotlight in hopes of helping them get adopted.
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
MEET COCO!

Meet Coco!
This little lady looks like a big scoop of cookies and cream ice cream.
Her spotted coat offers just a hint of how sweet she is.
Coco enjoys sprawling out in the green grass in the cool shade.
Her tongue’s out for her favorite flavor – two scoops of belly rubs please! Or make it three!
Coco is playful and one of the most popular pups in the play yard. She likes humans, and LOVES dogs.
If Coco looks like a sweet new addition to your family, please visit her this weekend at the shelter!
MEET TANNER!
Meet Tanner!
This easy-going guy is curious, but cautious. Once he checked out our camera, he was in! Way in!
Tanner is looking for an endless supply of laps and love … batting his green eyes and cozying up with Julie for a hug and a head massage.
Tanner just goes with the flow! He likes other playful pups and would love to grow up with a wing man!
Tanner is ready to leave his kennel here behind. He can’t wait to plop down in your backyard to chew on sticks and romp in the grass. Please visit Tanner at the shelter this weekend!
MEET CY KLONE!
Meet Cy Klone.
And get caught up in a tiny twister of cute-ness!
This five month old puppy is playful, curious and excited to explore the world by your side.
Cy Klone was ready to run and kept checking in to make sure we were coming too!
He has lots of kisses for the camera and lots of kisses for you!
If you are ready for an energetic bundle of sweetness and cute-ness, Cy Klone is ready for you!
Please visit him at the shelter this weekend!
MEET JUNE BUGG!
Meet June Bugg!
This happy hound loves bird watching, squirrel chasing and long walks in the woods.
The stray is still a puppy He loves to play and explore and he also loves to snuggle.
June Bugg loves leaning in for hugs, head scratches, and he doesn’t look away. He’ll look deep into your eyes when you talk to him or whisper sweet nothings in his ear.
June Bugg is a gentle-man and outdoors-man. If you’re the perfect person to make his doggie dreams come true, please visit June Bugg at the shelter this weekend!
MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It’s located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive in Tallahassee.
People can walk through the kennels Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. People can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
For those who need a little extra motivation to head to the shelter and walk the kennels, the Tallahassee Animal Service Center will be waiving adoption fees next weekend, Friday June 27 through Sunday, June 29. It’s joining hundreds of other shelters across the sunshine state for Petco’s Florida Mega Pet Adoption Event as they try to adopt 2,000 dogs in three days.
Check out all the dogs and cats available for adoption on the shelter’s website.
