Chicago Dogs split a doubleheader at Milwaukee

The Chicago Dogs split a doubleheader in Milwaukee today, losing the opener 4-1 but bouncing back and taking the second game 6-1.

The Dogs offense was limited to just one hit in the first game, as Juan Diaz threw five innings of 1-run ball, walking five and striking out four. The only Dogs run came on an RBI groundout by Brantley Bell.

Keoni Cavaco was the hard luck loser for Chicago, tossing five innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs, falling to 2-3 on the year.

Game 2 was much better for the Dogs’ offense as they pounded out 10 hits and six runs off Milwaukee starter Eric Chalus. Chicago took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Max Moris connected on his first pro home run, a 2-run blast. In the third, the Dogs would tack on three more on an RBI double by Chance Sisco, a sacrifice fly by Dusty Stroup and RBI single by Johnni Turbo.

Austin Marozas, making his first start as a Dog, tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just three singles, and extending his streak to 28⅓ innings without allowing an earned run this season and picking up his second victory of the year.

The win moves the Dogs to 20-17 and within half a game of first place in the East.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
