VERONA’S POLICE CHIEF TELLS ME HE IS RIGHT NOW HAVING A WARRANT SIGNED TO BE ABLE TO GET INTO THIS HOME AND GET ACCESS TO THOSE DOGS WHO HAVE BEEN HERE ALONE SINCE THEIR OWNER WENT TO JAIL A WEEK AGO. CHIEF TOM DISALLE SAYS HE AND THE NEIGHBORS HAVE BEEN CONCERNED FOR THE DOGS WHO THEY SEE THROUGH THE FRONT WINDOW AND HEAR BARKING TO GET OUT. THE CHIEF SAYS THEY HAVE BEEN WORRIED THE TWO PETS MAY BE HUNGRY AND HOT. DIESEL SAYS HE HAD BEEN TRYING TO GET PERMISSION FROM THE INCARCERATED HOMEOWNER SINCE NOT LONG AFTER 34 YEAR OLD DAVID MARSICO, A CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER, WAS TAKEN BACK TO JAIL ON JUNE 12TH. CHIEF TOM DIESEL TELLS ME FOR A PAROLE VIOLATION, A FAMILY MEMBER WAS TAKING CARE OF THE DOGS AND THEN FROM INFORMATION WE HAVE RECEIVED THAT STOPPED BECAUSE OF A MEDICAL ISSUE, AND WE’RE TRYING TO ASCERTAIN HOW LONG IT’S BEEN SINCE THE ANIMALS HAVE BEEN CARED FOR. I MEAN, WE CAN SEE THEM IN THE WINDOWS. THEY LOOK HEALTHY FOR THE MOST PART, BUT WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY’RE FED PROPERLY CARED FOR. AGAIN, THE CHIEF SAYS IN JUST THE PAST HOUR, THEY HAVE MADE PROGRESS.
