Kate Middleton is taking a page out of her sister-in-law’s style handbook. On Monday, the Princess of Wales stepped out for the Order of the Garter service carrying a clutch that Meghan Markle would certainly approve of.
For the festivities, Kate rewore one of her favorite Self-Portrait dresses, which she was spotted in at a VE Day concert just last month. She paired it with a Sean Barrett hat and a Strathberry clutch that drew a striking resemblance to one of Meghan’s popular pieces.

The Princess’s Multrees Chain Wallet ($425) matched the ivory hue of Kate’s frock and featured the brand’s signature Music Bar. Meghan carried a dark green crossbody with similar hardware back in 2018, and in 2017—not long after her engagement to Prince Harry—she touted Strathberry’s Tri Color Midi Tote, causing it to sell out within minutes.
Speaking to The New York Times last year, Meghan said this “changed everything in terms of how I then looked at putting an outfit together,” she said.
The Duchess of Sussex added that she spends “a lot of time just Googling, looking for brands. When people are online looking for things or reading things, I’m trying to find great new designers, especially in different territories.”

Kate first appeared at the Order of the Garter service in 2008, when she was still only dating Prince William. That year, he received his knighthood in the Order of the Garter, and People wrote that “It was significant that Kate was there, as it showed that she was being welcomed into the royal family fold.”
