2 dogs die in Citra mobile home fire

CITRA, Fla. (WCJB) – Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) firefighters said two dogs were found dead after they put out a fire at a mobile home Tuesday afternoon.

MCFR units said they were dispatched at 2:04 p.m. to reports of a mobile home structure fire located in the 3800 block of Northeast 175th Street Road, Citra.

The caller reported smoking coming from the roof, windows, and doors of the home.

They arrived on scene at 2:11 p.m. and called the fire under control less than half an hour later, at 2:35 p.m.

A primary and secondary search of the mobile home revealed two deceased dogs.

No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters on the scene.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
