
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A family in southwest Bakersfield is safe thanks to to their dog, Lulu, after an early morning two-alarm house fire broke out on Titanium Street, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department (BFD).
The BFD reported that they were called to the scene around 4 a.m.
Crews battled the flames for over four hours. Despite significant damage to the house, the family managed to escape unharmed.
According to the fire department, Lulu noticed the flames starting outside the house and promptly woke up the family, helping them to evacuate quickly before the fire could trap them inside.
