Frankenmuth Dog Bowl returns

The world’s largest Olympic-style festival for dogs, and their people, has returned to Mid-Michigan this weekend.

The 19th annual Frankenmuth Dog Bowl festival is taking place Saturday and Sunday at Frankenmuth River Place Shops.

The event features a variety of competitions, including DockDogs and Disc Dogs of Michigan. There’s also border collie sheep herding demonstrations, lure courses, and dog mushing demonstrations.

“Frankenmuth Dog Bowl is seriously just a piece of our lives, like a huge piece of our lives,” said Rachael Brinkman of Einstein Dog Training. “We’ve been coming to Dog Bowl competing in Dock Dogs since 2013 when my husband and I moved back to Michigan.”

The festival is free to attend, and all dogs are welcome as long as they are on a 6-foot leash.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
