Move over Birkin, a new custom handbag is making waves on social media.

In April, Marc Jacobs launched a new collection called “Bark Jacobs.” For a limited time, customers were able to purchase a leather Marc Jacobs bag with a hand-painted portrait of their dog on the side. Though orders for the custom bags are now closed, content creators are eagerly sharing first looks at their one-of-a-kind accessories.

Alexis Oakley, a content creator based in Los Angeles, purchased three Bark Jacobs bags, two Glam Claw Clip Crossbody Bags and one Beauty Bag. Two of the bags feature her golden retriever, Olive.

“My dog Olive is my entire world. I love sentimental purchases and being able to carry a custom piece that represents her means so much to me,” Oakley told USA TODAY on Wednesday, May 21. “I picked it up yesterday and I’m already using the bag today around town. I couldn’t wait!”

Content creator Christine Elliza visited a Marc Jacobs store in Millburn, New Jersey with her dog Nana to have her bag painted. Though photos of pets were allowed, customers were also able to bring their pets into the participating stores in person. Elliza said the store in Millburn also had dog treats and water for visiting pups.

How much did the ‘Bark Jacobs’ bags cost?

Oakley said custom Glam Claw Clip Crossbody Bag cost $395 and the custom Beauty Bag cost $95. The hand-painted portraits were a free, complimentary service.

The bags were offered every weekend in April at limited Marc Jacobs stores.

Who painted the ‘Bark Jacobs’ bags?

Various designers brough the Bark Jacobs bags to life, including Ariana Pacino in Los Angeles, Erika Vazzana in Chicago, Maili Nina in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jo Bird in the United Kingdom, Zac Crawford in New York City and Lorri Mitchell in La Jolla, California.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
