67-year-old Caseyville man killed in dog attack, police say

Caseyville Police Chief Woodrow Hall said three dogs, possibly involved in the attack, were taken from the scene by St. Clair County Animal Control.

CASEYVILLE, Ill. — A Caseyville man was killed in a dog attack Tuesday afternoon, according to Police Chief Woodrow Hall.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Susanne Court near Old Caseyville Road. Chief Hall said three dogs found at the scene were possibly involved in the attack. They were taken by St. Clair County Animal Control.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye, Sr., identified the victim as Kent P. Recklein, 67, of Caseyville.

At this time, it is unknown what breed the dogs are or what led to the attack.

An investigation is ongoing.
