The Sea Dogs scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. After Ronald Rosario and Allan Castro drew walks, Blaze Jordan singled to load the bases. Tyler Miller then hit a three-run triple into the left field corner, giving Portland a 3-0 lead. Miller scored on a sacrifice fly by Ahbram Liendo, further extending the lead.

The Fightin Phils mounted a comeback attempt in the eighth inning. Keaton Anthony walked and advanced to second on a single by Hendry Mendez. After a pitching change and a strikeout, Leandro Pineda hit an RBI single, coupled with an error, allowing Mendez to score and cut the deficit in half.

Reading continued to fight in the ninth inning. Robert Moore singled, and Keaton Anthony drove him home with an RBI double, bringing the Fightin Phils within one run.

Monegro, now 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA, earned the win for Portland. Jean Cabrera, who pitched five innings and allowed four earned runs on two hits while walking five and striking out five, took the loss for Reading.
