BLOOMINGTON — Columbus North moved within one win of a share of the Conference Indiana softball title with a 6-1 win Wednesday at first-place Bloomington South.
The Bull Dogs (9-10, 3-1) jumped out to an early 6-0 lead with four runs in the first and two in the second. Bailee Scruggs threw a seven-hitter and went 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs at the plate.
Columbus North can tie Bloomington South for the conference crown (Terre Haute North also has one conference loss and also can share the title) with a win May 21 at Terre Haute South.
