Tragic house fire kills six dogs, leaves rescue owner and 32 dogs homeless

SAN ANTONIO – A local animal rescue has tragically burned down, killing multiple dogs and leaving many more homeless.

Early Friday morning, a fire broke out at the 4 Little Paws Rescue on Grapevine Street on the far west side, home to nearly 40 animals at the time of the fire.

The owner of the shelter jumped into action as the fire broke out and worked to get as many animals out of the building as she could.

Despite her best efforts, six of the animals at the shelter, who the owner said had been following her back in as they continued to pull animals from the home.

The 32 surviving animals have all been taken into veterinary care, but after their evaluation, the dogs will need to go into foster homes.

Workers at the rescue have established a GoFundMe to raise funds for repairs and to continue to care for the animals.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
