KANSAS CITY, MO. — Rayne Nutrition, a veterinary nutrition brand, relaunched its Skin Relief Dry Dog Food on April 30. The formula is a whole food diet designed to support pups with atopic dermatitis, osteoarthritis and other dermatologic conditions.
According to research shared by Rayne, up to 15% of the canine population may be impacted by atopic dermatitis and 58% of dogs with skin disease can have atopic dermatitis. To address these dermatologic issues, many dogs often require a targeted nutritional plan. Rayne’s Skin Relief formula seeks to provide this.
Skin Relief Dry Dog Food is developed by board-certified veterinarians and Ph.D. veterinary nutritionists. It contains white fish and marine microalgae, both of which are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, to help reduce clinical signs associated with atopic dermatitis, like pruritus and inflammation. The formula also contains clinically back ingredients to help aid in the management of osteoarthritis, obesity and other health conditions in dogs. Additionally, Skin Relief, touts a high level of protein, increased micronutrient levels, and low fat and sodium content, making it suitable for long-term feeding in adult and senior dogs, according to Rayne.

“We know how frustrating skin issues can be for dogs, pet owners and veterinary teams,” said Anthony DeCarlo, VMD, chief executive officer of Rayne Nutrition. “In my 40-plus years of veterinary medicine, I’ve never seen a one-size-fits-all solution to treating dogs’ skin. Skin Relief was developed to offer a diet with whole food, minimally processed ingredients for veterinarians that reduces the risk of exposure to common food allergens while supporting the skin barrier and immune system with high-quality, minimally processed ingredients.”
According to a recent survey of pet owners who fed their dogs Rayne Skin Relief Dry Dog Food for up to 18 months, 92% of respondents reported their dogs had healthy, nice stools and 8% noted that fecal consistency improved. In addition to digestive benefits, 82% of pet parents reported improvements in their dogs’ joint health and 72% reported improvements in skin and coat health.
“I prefer Skin Relief from Rayne because of its versatility,” said Sandy Valverde, DVM, CCRT, head of the independent Rayne Clinical Advisory Team (CAT). “The diet is formulated to help manage atopic dermatitis in dogs and it’s a higher protein, lower fat option than other comparable products making it a great choice for patients with weight concerns or osteoarthritis.”
Rayne Skin Relief Dry Dog Food is exclusively available via the veterinary channel.
