WELL, HEY, LAST WEEK WAS ALL ABOUT THE PONIES AND TODAY THE RUNNING OF THE DOGGIES CLUB CANINE ON TAYLORSVILLE ROAD HOSTED A DOGGIE DERBY. IN ADDITION TO DOG RACES, SPECTATORS HAD DERBY THEMED COCKTAILS AND A DERBY HAT CONTEST. WE HAD ALL KINDS OF CONTESTANTS WITH ALL KINDS OF DOGS, LITTLE DOGS, BIG DOGS AND LOTS OF FUN PEOPLE, AND THEY RAN THE COURSE. NOBODY BETS. WE JUST DO IT FOR LAUGHS AND GIGGLES AND THE PEOPLE HAVE A REALLY GOOD TIME AND THE DOGS HAVE A GOOD TIME. AND IT’S JUST A FUN THING WE DO AT DERBY TIME ENOUGH. A DERBY THIS TIME

Club K9’s Doggie Derby brings tail-wagging fun to Jeffersontown
After a week filled with horses, Sunday was the doggies’ turn to shine.Club K9 on Taylorsville Road hosted a Doggie Derby, which offered a fun twist on Derby season traditions.The event featured dog races, Derby-themed cocktails, and a best hat contest for both humans and their furry friends.”We had all kinds of contestants with all kinds of dogs. Little dogs, big dogs and lots of fun people,” said Marilyn Parker, co-owner of Club K9. “Nobody bets. We just do it for laughs and giggles. The people have a really good time, and the dogs have a good time.”Around 25 dogs participated in the races.
