Dog Days at Lawton Farmers Market looks to keep pets healthy, find home for others

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – On Saturday, Dog Days at the Lawton Farmers Market helped people get up to date with their furry friends’ health, and even helped some find a new fuzzy companion.

The Lawtonka Animal Chiropractic and Veterinary Hospital hosted this year’s Dog Days event.

The event offered discounts on vaccinations and preventions as well as free heartworm tests.

There were dogs to adopt from the Lawton Animal Welfare, as well.

One representative said it’s important to help find the animals’ homes where they belong.

“We’re hoping we can get all these dogs into homes today and not have to take them back to the shelter for the weekend,” said Hannah Brown, Field Supervisor for Lawton Animal Welfare. “They really need to be in homes, that’s the best outcome for them, is to get a new family.”

Officials say that with recent flooding, pets may have been displaced or escaped their homes.

If you are missing a pet, you are asked to contact Lawton Animal Welfare at (580) 581-3219 to see if they have your missing furry friend.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
