Citations issued in dog mauling of 62-year-old Florence Co. woman

The owner of three dogs that mauled a 62-year-old woman Sunday afternoon in her yard on Big Swamp Road in Pamplico has been cited in the incident, according to Officer Zack Ellis with the Florence County Environmental Office.

The name of the person cited and the specific charges haven’t been released.

The woman was doing work in her yard when the dogs got loose from where they were being kept at a home in the community and attacked her, Ellis said.

She remains in the hospital, where she’s had a couple of surgeries for her injuries. Her specific condition still hasn’t been released.

Ellis said the animals involved in the attack were two Cane Corsos and one mixed-breed dog.

He added that the owner of three dogs voluntarily surrendered them, along with two other dogs.

Ellis said all five are being housed at the animal shelter of the Florence County Environmental Services.

The owner of the animals will have a hearing on the matter at a later time.

Ellis said they’re turning the findings of the investigation over to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office for further review.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
