Village of Howard asks for public’s help after three dead dogs discovered

The village of Howard is asking for the public’s help after incidents in which dead dogs were found.

According to the village, a small, elderly dog was found in a shoebox on the evening of April 13 in Pamperin Park, 2801 County RK. The village is currently looking for the dog’s owner.

The village also said two dead dogs were found in the brush of the West Deerfield kayak launch at the Deerfield Docks, 1000 W. Deerfield Ave. Both dogs were medium-sized, similar to a whippet, and had tan, white and gray short hair. One dog was significantly longer than the other.

One of the dogs is believed to have been placed in the brush sometime in November or December, while the other dog may have been there since the end of January.

The village asks anyone with information on the incidents to contact Howard animal control officer Matt Atkinson at 920-530-1044, or by email at matkinson@villageofhoward.com.

Rashad Alexander can be reached at ralexander@gannett.com and 920-431-8214.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
