Two dogs rescued, owners arrested in Coffee Co. animal cruelty case

COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced they made two arrests on April 17 for animal cruelty.

CCSO said they responded to a report of suspected animal neglect at a residence on Knollwood Road. Deputies and Animal Control officers investigated and found that two dogs on the property were malnourished, according to the CCSO. They said one of the dogs showed visible signs of injury as well.

The dogs were taken for care and further evaluation, the sheriff’s office said.

The owners of the dogs, Misty Michelle Thompson and Billy Joe Douglas, were arrested as a result of this investigation. They were both taken to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, CCSO said.

Their specific charges have not been released at this time. Georgia law states that knowingly causing physical pain, suffering or death to an animal can result in misdemeanor or felony charges.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
