
CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WJAR) — A year after the murder-suicide that claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman, her two dogs have found a new home.
The Hotel for Homeless Dogs in Cumberland held a send-off ceremony for the two dogs, Darla and Spanky.
They were taken in last year after they owner, 24-year-old Loren Marino was killed in a murder-suicide.
The DA’s office believes her boyfriend of two months killed Marino before turning the gun on himself.
Both dogs were inside the home when police discovered the gruesome scene.
After a year of challenges finding the pair a new home, one couple was the perfect match.
