WEST SENECA, N.Y. — The SPCA Serving Erie County provided an update about dogs that were recently rescued from a Williamsville home.
The 22 dogs have been groomed and examined for any medical needs they may have.
“Each dog arrived in distressing conditions, covered in matted fur, soaked with urine and feces, and required extensive grooming under sedation. Witnessing their transformation has truly been heartwarming,” the SPCA said Thursday on social media.

The SPCA has not released the name of the dogs’ owner, but added that it has received help from family members who are cooperating in the investigation.
There’s no timetable for when the dogs — which officials said appeared to be Shih Tzu/Poodle mixes — could be made available for adoption.
“It’s hard to believe the state they were in when they arrived compared to how they look now,” the SPCA said. “This incredible progress is a testament to the compassion of caring people like you, who have helped these dogs begin to heal and flourish. We’ve included a few before-and-after pictures to share their journey with you.
“While these dogs still have challenges ahead, their futures are filled with hope thanks to YOUR kindness. We cannot thank you enough for your generous support and donations to their care.”

“We’re here to help without judgment,” the SPCA said.
