MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Dozens of people and their dogs made their way out to MB Johnson Park to find Easter eggs filled with treats.
This was the 4th annual ‘Dog Easter Egg Hunt’ to help raise funds for Homeward Animal Shelter.
“We are constantly in need of supplies, whether it’s dog food, cat litter, bleach, so many things we are in need of on a regular basis,” said Natalie Perhus, Special Events Coordinator at Homeward Animal Shelter. “Events like this help us provide for over a thousand animals that come into our care each year, and that number keeps rising every single year.”
Tickets were sold out for the event this year, and organizers say around $1200-$1500 was raised by ticket admission and free-will donations.
Two lucky dogs and their owners found golden eggs which could be redeemed for things such as full-sized bags of treats, chews and toys, gift cards, and other prizes.
