OGDEN — Over 150 dogs were rescued from a single home in Ogden Tuesday after they were found in “extremely poor and overcrowded conditions,” according to Ogden police.
Ogden Animal Services responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Jefferson Avenue, which was the same home involved in a similar story KSL TV reported on in 2012. In that instance, 149 dogs were rescued from the home.

“Due to the scale and severity of the situation, additional support was requested from Weber County Animal Services, Roy Animal Services and Draper Animal Services,” police said.
The dogs were safely removed from the home and were taken to receive “veterinary care, evaluations and shelter support.” They’ll be put up for adoption after they undergo medical treatment and shelter protocol, police said, which will be sometime around Monday, April 21.
“Community members interested in adopting are encouraged to monitor Weber County Animal Services for updates on availability and adoption procedures,” police said.
Animal services put out an urgent request for fosters to help house the dogs during their time of recovery, saying that it was adding the rescued dogs to an already completely full facility. It also encouraged the adoption of other dogs already posted on its website, which would help make more room.
Police said the case was still under investigation as of Wednesday.
