2 adults, 7 dogs displaced Tuesday night in Summit Lake house fire

Akron fire crews are investigating a house fire that displaced two adults and multiple animals the evening of April 15 in Summit Lake.

Firefighters were dispatched to a burning home in the 900 block of Lakewood Avenue at about 10:30 p.m., finding smoke coming from the kitchen of the house upon arriving at the scene. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and rescue seven dogs from the burning residence. One person reportedly suffered a minor injury and was evaluated on the scene.

Red Cross was called to assist two adults who were displaced as a result of the fire, authorities reported.

Authorities are attempting to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
