2 adults displaced, 7 dogs rescued amid Akron house fire

One person was evaluated at the scene for a minor injury.

AKRON, Ohio — Two people have been displaced and seven dogs rescued from a house fire in Akron, which happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Lakewood Avenue.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they reported smoke coming from the kitchen area of the house.

“Fire crews made entry and extinguished the fire quickly,” according to a press release from the Akron Fire Department.

One person was evaluated at the scene for a minor injury.

The Red Cross has been called to assist the two adults who were displaced.

The Akron Fire Department says the cause and origin are under investigation.
