Griffin goes to the dogs – and a few other animals – at Pups, Yups and Food Trucks

GRIFFIN – Downtown Griffin went to the dogs, along with a baby velicoraptor and the Easter Bunny, this past Saturday for the April Second Saturday, presented by Hoshizaki America.

“Pups, Yups, and Food Trucks” was the theme this month. There were pet-friendly activities, a spring sidewalk sale, a downtown Easter Egg Hunt, complete with an appearance by the Easter Bunny, sponsored by City Church,  delicious choices to eat from local food trucks, and the launch of the Second Saturday Concert Series, sponsored by First National Bank.

Along with vendors set up on the sidewalks in downtown Griffin, the food trucks, more vendors, and a second music stage were set up in the East Broad Street at North Hill Street parking lot next to the railroad tracks. Local band Briar Sweet provided the music Saturday afternoon, then Rattled Bones kicked off the Second Saturday Concert Series at 7 p.m. in the Park at Sixth.

The next Second Saturday event and concert will be the May Fling on May 10, featuring The Solomon Street Festival, with a free concert by Chuck X Nick.

Mark June 14 on your calendar for the annual Second Saturday June Jam Beach Party, with Solomon Street changed into a beach and featuring live music, drinks and eats.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
