Woman, child dead after dog attack in southern Indiana, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two people died after a dog attack Monday in Dubois County, Indiana, according to police.

The Huntingburg Police Department was dispatched to the 100 N. Geiger St. at 3:37 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they found a woman and child both unresponsive.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the child was taken to Deaconess Memorial Hospital. The child died later at the hospital.

According to police, the cause of death for one person was a dog attack. Police did not say if the woman or child died from a dog attack.

Police said all the dogs in the home have been removed and don’t expect foul play and have no concerns for public safety.
