CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man pulls gun on patrons at Overton Bark dog park

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man’s phone video captures the moment a pet owner pulls a gun on a couple at the Overton Bark dog park Tuesday afternoon after an alleged argument.

The video has been shared dozens of times on social media.

Action News 5 talked with the man who shot the video.

He says a man had gotten in an argument with a couple at the dog park after their canines started playing roughly.

“It just escalated super quick from there for no reason,” says Andrew Buckner, who says he started filming in case something serious happened.

“It’s not worth it,” a woman says off-camera before the video shows the armed assailant moving towards the couple and pointing a handgun at them, shouting profanity-laden threats.

“Don’t get quiet on me now,” the gunman shouts. “Watch out before I shoot your b—- a–.”

The man soon lowered the gun and hurried out of the gated dog park. In the video, Buckner can be heard laughing and taunting the gunman for proving to have more bark than bite.

“At first I was kind of shocked and speechless,” says Buckner. “And then I realized, this dude isn’t on anything, you know?”

“I know you didn’t just come in here and just show that off like a trophy,” Buckner shouts in the video.

Other witnesses could be heard loudly warning the other parkgoers that a man had a gun.

“I do! I do! I got one,” the gunman taunted back, before driving away in a black sedan missing its car tag.

Buckner says a witness called 911.

MPD says officers did respond to an armed party call at the park that evening, but that they were unable to find the suspect and cleared the scene.

“We saw police pull up. I was waiting for them to park and get out and come talk to us,” says Buckner. “They just circled around and left.”

MPD says a police report was never filed.

The department would not confirm whether or not this video is being investigated and would not speak on whether or not a suspect has been identified.
