Animal abuse investigation leads sheriff’s detectives to dead dogs in Gila Bend

GILA BEND, AZ (AZFamily) — The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation into animal abuse at a property southwest of the Valley led authorities to find the remains of three dogs.

Details are currently limited, but detectives say one of the dogs had decayed to “skull and bones” at the property. Several other animals were found at the property, including seven puppies and 11 adult dogs, but their conditions are unknown.

Authorities say the suspect was arrested early Wednesday after evading detectives. His name has not been released.

Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies are hosting a news conference at 3:30 p.m. to discuss the case. Arizona’s Family is livestreaming the news conference in this story and on the free AZFamily mobile app and YouTube page.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
