13 dogs seized from Benton City property- ongoing investigation
Benton County, WA- — More than a dozen dogs were seized from a Benton County property on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Deputies with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a property in the Benton City area as part of an investigation into animal cruelty and dog breeding law violations.
13 dogs were found.
Under state law, there are certain conditions that need to be met if you have more than ten when it comes to those breeding laws.
Those requirements can be found by clicking here.
“This actually came from a noise complaint that somebody had over the barking dogs, which then led to the amount of barking dogs. Also some witnessing of the treatment of the dogs, and so I think there may have even been some videos that the deputies were looking at as far as how the dogs were being treated or handled and those types of things,” said Lieutenant Mike Clark with Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
The dogs are currently being held at the Benton County Canine Shelter, and will receive a medical evaluation by a veterinarian in the coming days to further the investigation.
