Florida woman pries open jaws of alligator to save her pet dog

A Florida woman rescued her dog from an alligator, prying the jaws of the beast open to save her furry friend, Fox13 in Tampa reported on Friday.

Kim Spencer said the gator, estimated at 6-7 feet long, sprung from a lake near her Tampa house and grabbed her dog, Kona, putting the dog’s entire head in its jaws.

Fox13 reported that Spencer jumped into the lake and straddled the alligator and started prying its jaws open.

She managed to free her dog, and they both needed stitches but were otherwise OK.
