Fairbanks got off to an explosive start in the second game of its weekend series with the Chippewa Steel. However, the Ice Dogs’ multi-goal lead came undone in the span of a 12-minute hot stretch by the Steel in the second period. That led to a 4-2 defeat, marking the Ice Dogs’ third loss in their last four games, all of which have been at home.
Fairbanks scored just 1:11 into the game when defenseman Thomas Corneillie intercepted a pass and went half the length of the ice sheet himself for a goal.
