KILLEEN, Texas – Our next Be Remarkable takes us to Killeen where we had the honor to meet Holly Havins who is the founder of Happy Tails Ranch Rescue.
She says she believes every pet should have a chance at a happy life. She works to get pets fixed, up to date on vaccines, make sure they are healthy, and help find forever homes.
“We’ve always kind of loved helping out the animals in need. but when I came out here, I saw, like, just so many in need, and it was just, like, unbelievable. Actually, all the puppies that need help and how people don’t spay and neuter and they are not educated on how to, you know, take care of their dogs and where to even take their dogs,” Havins said.
Holly says that she wants to create more education for pet owners and combat a growing problem in breeding and pet neglect. Which is one of the main reasons she was nominated to receive a $500 dollar check for being remarkable on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
It is part of Daniel Stark’s mission to recognize people like Holly making an impact to try to better her community.
Holly was nominated by Kaye Marquez, who also works with animals in the community. She says what Holly does is critical for the area.
“Holly spends a lot of time and energy, not only with the animals that she pulls, but helping other rescues get the word out,” Marquez said.
