AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Friends of the Animal Shelter in Aiken had a Saint Patrick’s Day adoption event.
Dozens of dogs and cats were up for adoption Saturday.
Dog adoptions were paid by sponsors and cat adoptions were only $10.
10 dogs and 6 puppies were adopted as well as 5 cats, which makes 21 animals adopted.
People were able to meet the animals and decide which one would be best for their family.
Robert Gordon, an adoption counselor for FOTAS says people “come here, they’re going to get a really good animal, good pet. We are going to work hard to match them up with the right animal, the one that’s going to be best for them. When people come in, they tell us what they’re looking for and we basically try to match them up based on our knowledge of these animals and what would be best for them.”
If you missed this event and think you would like a new addition to your family, you can head to FOTAS website to see what animals are up for adoption and make an appointment to meet them.
