Meet Donny and Lily — two adorable dogs who love nothing more than playing fetch together at their favorite beach.
But for the pups’ loving family, these fun little outings have a funny way of turning into games of hide-and-seek.
Recently, Lily and Donny’s owner, Reddit user Maryapc, spent the day with the dogs along the rocky shore near their home in Australia. And, of course, she brought a few balls along to keep them entertained.
“When there are balls involved, nothing else matters,” Maryapc told The Dodo.
Playing fetch on that varied terrain, Lily and Donny tend to each position themselves where they believe the ball might land or bounce. It has the added effect of making them quite difficult to spot.
For fun, Maryapc shared this photo from that day on Reddit, challenging viewers to find the two dogs hidden within it:
As far as “find the dog” photo challenges go, this one is a bit more difficult than most. But rest assured, both Lily and Donny are there somewhere.
Of the two, brown dog Donny is the easier one to spot.
For those who failed to find him, here’s a hint:
Sure enough, there’s Donny, closer to the foreground with his rear facing the camera.
He might have looked like just another rock at first, but his fur and tail give him away.
Lily, meanwhile, is a bit more elusive. But yes, she’s there somewhere.
A helpful hint offered by one eagle-eyed Reddit user describes Lily’s general vicinity:
“If you divide the image into 4 quadrants, [she’s] on the bottom right corner of the top left quadrant.”
Still stumped? It’s hard to blame you.
Here’s another clue — Lily is in this circle:
For those who’ve still failed to find her: She’s standing behind a rock in the distance, leaving only her watchful face visible.
“What’s so funny about Lily is that after she has caught [the ball], she will run very far away and just have an ear or something poking out, waiting for the next ball to be thrown,” Maryapc said. “She’s honestly so funny when she hides like this.”
Lily’s quite the sneak:
Prior to sharing this photo with the internet, Maryapc showed her family. It took them a good amount of searching to track down the two pups, too.
“My dad never found [Lily] and had to have it pointed out,” Maryapc said. “He was crying with laughter when I pointed her out.”
Despite being so cute, Donny and Lily sure can be easy to miss.
